Fiction for Kids’ Donation to Books Are Wings

We're thrilled to announce our latest community partnership! We have donated 50 stories to Books Are Wings this month, supporting their mission to provide every child in Rhode Island with regular access to books. This collaboration holds a special significance as we both share a deep commitment to making literature accessible to all children. Books Are Wings works throughout Rhode Island, focusing on communities where children often lack personal book ownership.

Our donation includes stories in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, specifically chosen to serve BAW's diverse community. Our multilingual selection is particularly important in Providence, where more than half of students come from homes where English isn't the primary language spoken, and approximately 65% of students are Hispanic.

As an entirely volunteer-run nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to brightening children's lives through art and creative writing. This donation to Books Are Wings continues our tradition of community impact, following recent successful initiatives including a 57-book donation to Camp RYSE supporting refugee youth.

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated team members Abigail Choi and Sneha Tallam for coordinating this donation. Their efforts, along with those of our writers, illustrators, editors, translators, and graphic designers, make these initiatives possible.

This partnership with Books Are Wings marks another milestone in our journey to spread the joy of reading. Since our founding, we've distributed nearly 700 books to children in hospitals, libraries, and foster centers across the country. We are proud to add this collaboration to our growing list of community partnerships, knowing these stories will find their way into the hands of young readers who need them most.

Our donations are more than simply donating books—it’s about investing in imagination, education, and the future of our community's children!
